At Leicon, we love custom challenges, big and small! We recently had the opportunity to complete
a wonderful
new project at the well-known Vita swimming pool in Mol. We designed and installed a compact yet highly challenging indoor play structure specifically for the pool’s restaurant area.
It’s a perfect example of how a smart design can add an extra dimension to a gathering place.
Smart use of space
Vita Swimming Pool was looking for a way to make their dining area more appealing to families with young children. While parents relax and enjoy a snack or a drink, the children
can now play safely and energetically right next to the tables. Because the available floor space
in the dining area was limited, our designers
made full use of the vertical space.
The result is a vertical, three-dimensional play structure that fits perfectly into the building’s light,
modern architecture. Thanks to the pool’s large glass walls,
daylight streams beautifully through
the structure, creating an open and transparent atmosphere.
Three floors full of discoveries
Despite the compact footprint, the play structure offers a surprising amount of play value
across
no fewer than three levels. Children are challenged to climb up,
navigate their way through colorful
soft obstacles, and test their balance.
Optimal safety and transparency
As with every Leicon project, safety is paramount. The entire structure is tightly enclosed in robust,
black safety nets. This has a dual benefit: it guarantees maximum safety so children cannot fall,
and it provides 100% visual supervision for parents from the terrace. The bright, primary colors
of the thick protective edges blend seamlessly with the lively and sporty atmosphere
of the swimming complex.
The project in Mol proves that an indoor playground doesn’t always have to take up hundreds
of square meters
to be a huge success. By designing specifically for the client,
we transform
every hospitality space into a magical play area that significantly enhances the visitor experience.
